China Southern contingent to inspect Queenstown
A group of more than 60 Chinese Southern Airlines and Chinese government officials, travel wholesalers and media are coming to Queenstown next month as part of the inauguration
of direct flights by the airline from Guangzhou to Auckland from 08APR. They are being hosted by Queenstown and Auckland airports and Destination Queenstown and their itinerary includes tours to Milford Sound, local vineyards and a dinner at Millbrook Resort.
The Otago Daily Times reports that Queenstown locals hope the visit will translate quickly into more highspending Asian visitors to the Lakes district and attract the attention of China’s five million skiers.
